One of the main reason’s for getting into photogrpahy in the first place has been a desire to see and experience far away places on our planet. Photography has served as a vessel to take me to some amazing untouched parts of the globe including Antarctica, Madagascar and parts of Africa.

The largest desert on the planet, Antarctica is a place of serene beauty few get to see. From spending time documenting an Emperor penguin colony to searching for Snow Petrel breeding grounds on snowmobile, Antarctica has left a lifelong impression on me.

I spent 3 months on the island of Nosy Komba in Madagascar documenting the work MRCI does to empower communities and preserve the marine ecosystem through their marine protected areas.

Hein Wagner is by far the most inspirational person I have met. Hein was born blind but that didn’t stop him and he has completed the Absa Cape Epic on a tandem, ran the Antarctica marathon and set the land blind speed record to name a few. I see it as a great privilege to have been to able to be his personal photographer and travel assistant for over a year.
